Graded homelink-5.11 Comparing Decimals (greater than and less than, naming parts and some practice subtraction problems at the end!)
Wednesday: Lesson 5.12 Sunrise-Sunset Line Graphs
Graded homelink-5.12 Subraction and Multiplication Practice (2 subtraction facts using different subtraction methods as well as naming all the x2,x3 and x4 multiplication facts that they know)
Thursday: Unit 5 Study Guide--we will work on this in class. Please continue to work on the following skills to review for Friday's assessment:
1. Writing 5-digit numbers (name the number in each place value and have your child write the 5-digit number)
2. Comparing 5-digit numbers (greater than, less than, equal to)
3. Using basic facts to compute extended facts (i.e. 9+4=13; so 900+400=1,300)
4. Finding the sum of 4 addends (i.e. 2+8+14+16=40)
5. Using strategies to solve problems involving the addition and subtraction of multidigit whole numbers. Make ballpark estimates (i.e.45+19=64; ballpark 50+20=70)
6. Finding the perimeter and area of a rectangle
Part B consists of:
1. Writing a decimal and a fraction for a shaded region on a grid
2. Comparing decimals (greater than, less than, equal to)
3. Writing decimal numbers (name the number in each place value and have your child write the decimal--i.e. 5 in the tenths, 4 in the ones and 9 in the hundreds=4.59)
Friday: Unit 5 Assessment--the students will do the assessment during school and I will send home the Unit 6 Family Letter outlining our next unit as well as a Practice Set that will be graded on Monday.
